Paolo,

If I ever get to Italia to visit my relatives (Pescassoroli in L'Aquila, Abruzzo) I will be SURE to visit your shop and drop some dirty American dollars on you for some treasures!

Hey Paolo, terrific looking shop, I love the sign. We will be in Italy next year
on our way to Monaco GP. If I can I will call by and spend some of my "nice clean" Aussie dollars.
Having said that. I wasn't planning to go to Milano this year, as last year Di discovered the "SHOPPING" and spent enough to support a small country for a year.

Paolo,

Thanks, I will skip the coffee, but gladly take some fine balsamic vinegar or better yet, some "wine of the Po".

As I type this, my grandfathers Italian passport and steamship ticket/ immigration card from 1914 sit framed above my computer. At 17 he left Pescasseroli and went to the US. As I aged I began to gain an appreciation for the courage it takes to leave your family and go a new world with only a few dollars. And better yet, his sister went to OZ so I have family there! Although I don't know them or where they are....perhaps I should go "walkabout" in search of them!

Best,
Rick

thanks a LOT guys, your support helps really a lot:)

Rick,
Pescasseroli is a wonderful place today, try have a look at the website they have:

Pescasseroli.net - Hotel Alberghi a Pescasseroli nel Parco Nazionale d'Abruzzo

many many italians went to america in that period, also some of mine now living in NY.They all had an incredible courage, probably much more than todays teens, and they found lucky in America...making the real dream came true.

Think also many of theme save themselfs cause since 1915 we had wars here...and we also had the "great" idea to declare war to USA (incredible that was for real..and not a joke..).

Italo Balbo (the commander of Chicago trans atlantic flight mission to America) told Mussolini to have a look at the phone address book of any american big town before just think to attack america...and he did not:D

Thats history...better for all theme to be in USA creating a future:))

My grand parents came over from Genoa and Scicily and settled in "Little Italy", Hoboken N.J. on Madison St. My dad moved south to Atlanta fresh out of med school and never went back. I want badly to get over there to see the heritage and possibly some of the relatives. There is a statue of one of my forefathers, a Sciafino, who was in the Italian army with an inscription that my brother brought back and had translated."Better to die young and free than old and enslaved". If we get over there, will definitely drop by and drop a few Lira, (if still accepted).

After hearing Paolo describe the cool 917 models he has in his shop, I was motivated to get one. I'm glad I saw the invoice in my email (which was in Yen) before my wife did (she knows what a 917 is, having seen one at RCR), because I'm sure she would have thought, "Where in the world are we going to fit more stuff from Fran" :)

Paolo,

Yes,
The studio 27 photoetch parts are great! I ordered TWO sets from Japan for my Fujimi Mk Is and am very pleased! Quite reasonable in price for what you get and the quality.

Hope to see your store someday.......
