Don't forget your Graziano alignment dowels

Hi guys,

Thought I'd post this since I didn't see the info in any of the Graziano install threads.

There are two alignment dowels (aka pins, sleeves) required to properly align the Graz to the adapter plate. While you can install it without them, there's sufficient misalignment potential that you could run in to input shaft / pilot bearing wear issues.

On Fran's advice, I ordered them from Audi directly. At about $7 each they're probably the cheapest Audi parts ever made  .

Part number is 086-351-153-A (you need two).

They press-fit in to the adapter plate. You can also just slide them in to the trans, then use the trans bolts to tighten the plate down and press them in that way (they don't go in that tight).

Many thanks for that heads up, Mark!

Which Graziano box are you running? Did you opt for the pre-2014 trans with a drop-gear?
Best,
John

Hi John,
It's the V8 version (purchased through Fran). It's definitely pre-2014 design. No drop gear so I'll be revving the heck out of my motor :)

Mark,

Thanks for the info. One note, the part # in your text is incorrect. The part # on the bag in your 1st picture is correct .

I bought four ( for two cars) and the Audi parts guy told me that there was only 93 left in the country.

Thanks for catching the typo, Ron! of course, now the forum won't let me edit the post :(

Correct Part number is 086-301-153-A
