Had the opportunity to take one of the "continuation" MK IVs around Pitt Raceway during the Shelby American Automobile Club convention. This thing kicks you in the butt when you put the hammer down! J17 is a beast!

This is one of the "Kar Kraft LLC" MK IVs (and one "J" car) built by Kenny Thompson. Dual 4V 427 as run in 1967 and a T44 transaxle. Honeycomb aluminum tub and built to 67 specs from Ford blueprints.

Here it is with it's grandson. And notice the smile on my passenger's face at speed!

Great report Rick. How does the T44 shift? Wish I could have gotten one of those for my MkII.
Dave,

The T44 shifts like butter! I was very surprised on track how easy it was. I have driven his other MK IV previously but only a low speed and never out of second gear. You can get a T44....for around $40K! Here is on track
