That sucks to hear. He was very accommodating with my pan that was first quality when received. My application required cutting the heck out of one of his pans and fabricating several pieces to put it back together. I don't have the equipment to tig it back together, so he offered to have me send it back to him and he welded it up for me, then milled the deck mounting surface back to flat then heat treated it again.
After reading that other thread, I would probably avoid those pans too.
