Engine Combos

For bang-for-the-buck...I just don't think you can beat the Windsor.
The ally heads and new iron blocks now available, allow enough
cubic inch to make as much usuable HP and torque as one could possibly need in a replica.

But it sounds like Mike is after a "cool" factor by running a Cleveland,
or Clevor...which is always neat (personalization is what it's all about).
Have fun !

MikeD (actually MikeDD...a long story)

Clevor / Kinsler pics - (for those that asked - :) )

Paul...that Kinsler set up looks absolutely sick :-D

I've noticed that Kinsler's tend to have longer runner lengths than other IR set-ups....cough...inglese.....cough....... That should go a long way towards making up the torque deficiency in Clevelands. But I wonder if such a long runner would run inteference with the rear window at the back?

Either....I think I'll stick with my original thinking, except go for Boss 347 package instead of just 331. I'm not really concerned with peak hp...I'd be happy with anything between 450 to 500 hp. But I do like the Cleveland set-up because it's different, and the power potential is there. But with the Cleveland, stroking and EFI is pretty much mandatory for torque production.

I'm loving this thread! The Cleveland definitely needs more love!

Here's a couple of old pictures of my engine. 401 RDI block, Yates head, Kinsler Fuel.

MikeDD, a good set of aluminum Cleveland heads really don't cost that much more than a set of inline heads. They do require a little more thought however in the way that an engine is put together. But the power that can be made is just amazing.
The cool factor always helps though, lol...

The covers are I believe powder coated - and it has lasted really well.

Richard - WOW!!! and WOW again... I really like the look of that, rockonsmile

You also must be able to get the motor very low, I can imagine them sticking up nicely through the rear deck of the T70..

Ron - get yourself one of these..... and go kick some VIR Butt!!:D
