Extreme Weather in Scotland

Weather Conditions

Just got off the phone with a friend who lives in Scotland.
She said that since early this morning the snow has been nearly waist high
and is still falling.. The temperature is dropping far below zero and the
north wind is increasing to near gale force. Her husband has done nothing
but look through the kitchen window and just stare.

She says that if it gets much worse, she may have to let the drunken bastard in.

And I win a measure of Brandy. Not a "gentleman's measure" mind you, because I bet myself a large one that someone would probably turn this post into a climate change issue within the hour. Unfortunately, I also bet it would be Mark, however, you have at least won me a nip which is nice.

Thanks Pete.... :drunk:

Screw you Keith! :)

How could anyone make that a climate change issue, especially a Brit? I suppose we can forgive Pete, he lives upside-down, but the rest of us know very well, that the conditions you describe in Scotland, could not be considered as any kind of 'change'.

That Scottish woman's sister lives in Norway, I'm told. The winters there evidently are just as bad.

Her husband, Torvald, sent her to town one evening early in the winter - on foot - to get him a pint. She had to cross a river to get there via the shortest route...and, as it had just recently frozen over, the two agreed that would be the route to take. When she arrived at the local store, she realized Torvald hadn't given her the money to by the pint, so she trudged back across the river to the house and gave him a piece of her mind...which ended with, "Why did you let me leave without money in my pocket?" Torvald's answer? "I wasn't sure how thick the ice might be."
