Fillmore’s RCR Mk1 GT40

Today I finished mounting the shifter and routing the cables to the Quaife QBE62G transaxle. The challenge was getting the RCR provided shifter to clear the e-brake. The solution was to mount the shifter box on a slight angle. You cannot bolt into the tunnel due to coolant and A/C hose clearance issues. Bending sheet metal and mounting to the floor was the best option.

Welp another 2 years have gone by since my last post. Hopefully all my major life distractions are in the past and I can finish this build in 2026! In the spring of 2024 I bought a house in Scottsdale, sold everything in Michigan and permanently moved. It took a year to remodel the new house and rebuild my new garage in AZ. I had the GT40 shipped out last summer, but needed to get my second knee replaced, so didn't start working on the car again until around September. Before the car was shipped my buddy Jow at Stenod fabricated a new roll bar that fits the RCR spider much better. The front hoop hugs the A-pillars, and the center bars were sunk into the roof so they aren't next to your head.
