finnaly i bought a un1

yesterday i went to the junk yard looking for a renault un1 transaxle. because in Kuwait we have all the junkyards in one area , so i dedicated the whole day in search of the UN1.
i looked every where with no luck , i searched more than 70 junkyards i could not find a single renault .
so on my way home i spotted an old renault 25 i think its the only one left in Kuwait . i called the owner and offered him a 200 USD for the transaxle. i test the car it shifts ok no problems with the transaxle . and i bought it . today ill pick it up .

now what modification should be preformed on the transaxle to use it with 289 or 302 Ford engine.

thanks

i did picked up the transaxle .
after arriving home i found out that its a NG3 not un1.
how come im sure it was a renault 25 1988.
what should i do now? they guy is refusing to take it back.

I guess that you are going to keep it arent you? Dont worry there will be someone else who will need this at a later date.Being in kuwait will make getting rid of it harder but not immpossible.

Adbul, I think the NG3 box came with the 2litre versions of the R25, the Fugeos and the standard Renault 21's. You would want to be looking for the V6 models if you were looking for a Un1.

Abdul, you might keep an eye open for Audi's while you are looking. They are the same general spec as Renault's as far as price, suitability, torque rating etc. They might be a bit more available in that part of the world too. Can't hurt, and if you find one ask on this forum about the type and I am sure someone will help you with it.

They will require different adapters and flywheels etc. but a lot of GT40 kits use them and there are a lot of them behind V8s.
