fluid amounts

Need help with the type and amount of fluids used in a renault trans. The car is a GTD and was built in Europe about 15 years ago. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Don't know the amount or weight but it should be Red Line synthetic for best performance.

That leads to my question, what weight of Red Line trans fluid are people running in their G50 Porsche transaxles?

I filled mine up yesterday, same trans, Renault. Valvoline 80-140W about 3 1/2 Qt or until it start running out of the hole.

I'm using Red Line Synthetic MT90 Gear Oil in my R21 without LSD. The container also has SAE 75W90 GL-4 on it. And says " For manual transmissions and transaxles with require an SAE 75W90, or 80W90, or 90 gear oil which satisfies the moderate-duty hypoid rating of GL-4. Provides perfect synchronizer friction and excellent shiftability."

Drain all old oil from bottom plug. Replace bottom plug. Fill from side plug hole on level ground until oil flows out on fill hole. Replace plug. I think that fred is right, about 3 1/2 to 4 quarts.

Seams to work very well.

Kalun Babe, How much more would I have had gotten? The last run was 240 RWHP, 5 more may be /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Actualy, when I did the run I had the 70-90W GL-4 stuff. All kidding aside, do you guys feel the red line stuff is that much better?
Cheers,

Redline MT90 is in my G50.

Older Porsche transaxles should use dino lubes else the synchros will not be as effective. Synthetics are too slippery for the older technology synchros.
