like the images in this link, are these ford gt race cars a few of the 4,038 ford gt's produced? if so, its a shame when these cars get totaled in a wreck on the track . if there not from the 4,038 gt's, is ford still producing the car for its race teams? they must as the car in the link is said to be an 2008 model year and ford didnt produce the car for the 08 model year. thanks. curiosity was getting to me.

I believe that all Ford GT production has ended..

Shame to have the wrecked on the track? Certainly, but it was a shame to have many of the originals wrecked in the 60's as well.. Many restored fully as I suspect the case will be of the new breed cars wrecked in competition...
