GT40 Manufacturers

The GT40 replica market is fairly small, there are but a few manufacturers. Many have come and gone. As I search to see where is the best value, I am coming up with this list of suppliers (I have not included those who no longer produce or supply)

SouthernGT http://www.southerngt.co.uk/
Tornado http://www.tornadosportscars.com
GT Racing http://www.gtracingonline.co.uk/
RaceCar Replicas http://race-car-replicas.com/
CAV https://www.capeadvancedvehicles.com
Superformance https://www.superformance.com/factory-models-gt40
Ardern http://www.activepowercars.com/
GT Forte https://www.gtforte.co.uk/
Roaring Forties https://www.roaringforties.com.au/

Are there others that should be considered, for a USA buyer?

Thanks

Paul

I'm not sure Gelscoe will enjoy being considered as a manufacturer of replicas!
You soon realise that if you call them and ask a question that isn't related to a genuine car or one of their continuations.

They are replicas (darned nice ones) as are all currently produced GT40’s regardless of any additional monikers or purchased pedigrees.

How about 'Race Car Replicas' located in Fraser, Michigan USA. Not too far from where I live. I'm going to make an appointment to go see their facility. They claim to have supplied all the cars (including the Ferraris) used in the Ford vs Ferrari movie. I wonder what's to become of those cars? Maybe I'll ask when I visit them next week. Might be neat to own one. A real life back-to-the-future car?

who of the above does builds original spec tubs ? Gelscoe and Superformance are probably the only ones these days. Are Abbey and Tennant Panels still around ?

Some might debate that 'some' of the recent builders tubs are not 100% original spec, when reverse engineering and with the equipment available now its easy to see room for improvement, from what I've observed on the forum I think a short list in no particular order it would be GOX, Gelscoe, CCD, Superformance, there are other that have gone to great lengths to develop tooling to do so as well, but not on a commercial basis as far as I'm aware. There are others who specialise in rebuilds that might have the capability, but dont appear to build whole 'new' cars.

Per one of the stunt drivers, the movie cars were a mix of SPF and RCR.

Has anyone seen the French monocoque that is being advertised on eBay? They are selling it as a full rolling chassis and from the photos, it looks very nicely done.

We are producing tubs from a FULL set of drawings. And have done for a number of years. .Most do not have that luxury, though they claim it. Supplying major race teams in the UK, with wins at all the major racing events.. Le Mans Classic, Spa, Goodwood Revival etc I am currently sorting out a whole scale mess on a restoration of another original P chassis restoration. The supplier has always claimed their panels were right...
We can supply everything from a bare chassis to a fully built competitive FIA papered car, set up, fully documented, with a half day at Silverstone ,
being shown the ropes by a winning driver.

Serious enquiries only please. Please consider that the budget far exceeds a normal replica.

it looks a bit crude to me and far from a real replica. Manufacturer is noted as VRC. Does anybody know this brand ?

Makes me laugh when I see a 40’Lefty. So much work goes into building these cars, so why on earth make it a ‘Lefty’...
