Hatall Whiting

Back in the early 1990s, an old Ford supervisor friend advised me that Hatall Whiting bought the company that made the original Ford Monoques. I went to visit them in Basildon (during a Ford visit), and wondered whatever happened to this.

I think Hatall Whiting went bump, and I guess someone bought the designs and the rights.

Its Hawtal Whiting, and it is now part of Wagon Automotive .

Wagon sold Hawtal Witing to Acro Services Corp in August 2005.

Hawtal Whiting were the sponsors of Andy Wallace and Perry McCarthy in F3 in the '80s

Back in 1995 maybe 1994 I made an unofficial visit to Hawtal Whiting and saw the facility where they were fabrictating GT40 chassis.

I was informed they were the exact original thing and that the bare chassis was sent elsewhere for completiton.

I've wondered since then why these guys have not come up much in discussion on GT40's myself.

Actually, I never heard about Wagon Automotive. I understand it is only their UK operations that went into admin.

Years ago, I thought about buying one of their chassis, and using someone else' body etc. I think the project would have been expensive.
