I sure hope it managed to return with a sample. The team of scientists and engineers have had a lot of hurdles to overcome to get the little guy back.

I doubt it Ron where it came down was in the middle of nowhere. Maybe the odd Emu or Roo would have seen it.

On a serious note, just saw the news here and quite a group of people did watch it for part of its fall. The craft was destroyed in the return/landing, but the box containing the dust sample is expected to be intact and recoverable.

I read most of the story on this spacecraft and the team today and I have to say that it is just too doggoned cool....
