help with renault adaptor

i have a little problem, my bellhousing(unknown origin)is not fitting properly, the entire transaxle is offset 1/8" to the left, the pilot bushing is rubbing on the fingers of the clutch pressure plate. the tube it rides on is also hitting the input shaft, has anyone else experienced this problem?

Sounds like a botched bellhousing machining job.(Try and say that quickly)I can't imagine there would be any problems with the rear of the engine or the gearbox so I would get a decent bellhousing from a known origin. I had mine cast and machined by a marine guy who was familiar with mating engines to stern drives etc, he did a great job.
