Having owned a Ford GT I had the opportunity to travel >170mph several times and found the car to be exceptionally stable at those speeds. I know several of the guys running their GTs at the standing mile events have traveled well in excess of 200mph and several >220mph. I've never heard any of them mention stability problems. Now that I am in the process of completing an SPF Mk I I do wonder what to expect from the car in terms of handling? Hearing stories of light front ends had caused me some concern. I don't routinely travel at high speeds but for those occasional 6am blasts on a deserted freeway I do wonder what level of confidence the GT40 is going to inspire.
