Looking for info on how to install/design pull pins at the front of the doors to manually open them. I have powered door but concerned about the possible need to manually open . Very much appreciated!
Yeah, the other Scott stole my build thread name so I had to come up with something else. I thought about GreatScott, or TheRealScott and even ScottWhoLikesTheSlcBody, but I settled on S2
My car was delivered last week... about as good as Xmas morning when I got a Six Million Dollar Man action figure, a Guns of Navarone mountain and a bunch of military/automotive models – no that wasn’t this Xmas. Reflecting on it, that’s a glorified doll, a multi-story doll house and models that required glue that cause brain damage if sniffed… what the hell were my parents...
I would say yes, Kurt’s and Stephan’s approach could possibly be installed easily as long has the strut mount can be unscrewed without access behind the body. But as Scott states, the pressure on the pin may be so great that you can’t pull it out when the door is closed.
Peter Vincent’s latching approach is more complex and based on that video Scott posted you probably need access behind the body for the cable pull.
I’d also be worried about scratching the doors and body up if it required door removal. My guess is realigning the doors may be a tedious and a difficult process.
I used a simple, non-locking rotary handle that was connected to the bear claw larch mounted on the rear edge of my driver's side door. the striked is mounted to the body.
