Just paid a deposit on my GT40: -

Can't give you any piccies other than the website above...

So, my journey begins...

Can't thank all you guys enough (especially SimonjrWinter) so far for all the advice i've had. Trust me, I'll be annoying you all for a long time yet...

Delivery is Monday / Tuesday next week, and then I'll post some more piccies.

I'm like a dog with two bones!

I have a ton of questions, but many will be on the RCR pages.

Love the Gulf colours, but they are soooooooo popular...

Love Red with white Rally stripes...

Love White (like the crystal white Porsche Carrera white)...

So, the answer is NO! I haven't decided the colour yet

Graham, color choice is the most difficult decision. Engine/gearbox, etc. are relatively simple once you have decided how the car will be used. Color, on the other hand is most permanent. I struggled with the decision for a whole 10 months before finally deciding. Make it something that "flips your switch" without regard to external input! Only then will you be completely satisfied by the choice.

Yeah, a great price.

I have drooled on the RCR web site for months, knowing that If i bought one new, It would languish for an AGE until I had saved up some more money...
This way, I can get most of the things I need pretty much right away, which is fantastic.

...Only trouble is, I can't buy talent, I'm going to have to earn that the old fashioned way...

Couldn't agree with you more. I have about 20 mates who are all chipping in with their opinions, and it;s making my head spin...

Ultimately, Its got to be for me.

I am planning on SERIOUSLY enjoying the journey. Its not scratch built, nor is it ground up, but there's plenty there for me to put my stamp on it, and thats the main thing.

Graham, Looking forward to your updates and comments on the build. Not that you need any motivation but everytime I open my garage door and see my [yellow and black] GT40 sitting there I'm ready to take her out for a rip. I did last night and the cooler temps here in central florida (finally!!) now mean she runs just that little bit better. What a blast....you're gonna love the final product. I'll chime in on a colour.....like you, I love the GULF stuff but also as you said maybe a bit too popular now....how 'bout the colors on new Racing SPF GTR. BRG and yellow stripe...very tasty looking.
