Just wanted to say hi

So just wanted to stop in and introduce my self. My wife and I are looking for a project to start on our 10th anniversary we've looked at the FFR GTM and now starting to look at the Fran's SLC. Just trying to get the feel for both of them before deciding what we want to put our money towards. I've posted up some over on the other forums and look forward to asking some questions over here as well. Some of the big things that we like about the SLC that we've seen/heard so far is the fit and finish of the body and how everything just fits right. Less time fixing this kinda of stuff means the more money in my pocket and the quicker it is done. We are still debating which tail section we like of the SLC. The car would mainly be for street with maybe a few track times a year. We are both new to the building of cars, I've rebuild motorcycles and just recently got done rebuild my Vrod. We have about a year and half to make up our minds so help us out!

Welcome Kris (and wife)....

Plenty of information in the SLC sub-forum specific to the SLC, but also plenty in all sections, not just limited to RCR!

Thanks for the warm welcome guys, kinda funny right after I signed up here I got the FFR Email about the GTM going up in price. Which put a sour taste in my wife's mouth after looking at the difference's her self. I seen the thread about it as well and after Fran pointed out how the two prices can be compared it really made us sit down start to make a budget for the both of them.

Welcome

If you mean a budjet to buy both, Thats chewing off a lot.
Maybe one at a time and after the 1st one see if you are burnt up or ready for #2.

Jim

Jim,

I WISH I could afford to do both ever! This will probably be a one shot chance knowing the wife. We were meaning that we were making budgets comparing the two together to see what they would come out to with the difference that we would do to them.

Welcome to Ron's fine site. We have many opinions and different cars to examine on the site. Since your not in a big hurry to get started building, you will have time to see how the builds went as many are recorded along with pictures. Some took the buy-it-built and drive the cars, some found cars already built, and others (the talented) built from scratch. Life is short and wives won't spend their free time putting a car together. It is a guy thing from what I've seen. After a while they may start to complain about the time you spend with "THE car". Can't ride around in something not finished. Sunday my wife ask, "why didn't you pull the engine out of the TR6 this winter?" One of her cars was parked in my garage. I thought a detached garage some 100 feet from the house was far enough away!
Happy Motoring :drunk:

Kris, there is at least one person on this forum who owns/has owned a GTM, a GT40 and an SLC and, I believe, still has the GTM and the SLC. I know he liked each but believe he would tell you, based on my conversations with him, the SLC is the hot ticket. All his cars have been assembled by him from kits and all are works of art.
