London Riots

Just trying to save enough to buy a big enough boat David, then I'm switching my Head Office (read cabin in the garden) to a cabin on the boat!

We were 'up west' this evening and drove through Westbourne Grove. The road sides are now continous 8ft high wire mesh barricades, All shop windows and doors have been covered with 25mm plywood and even the pubs are covered up except for their main entrances. What a debacle.

We've had riots like that in the US. Watts, Detroit, LA after the King verdict. It stinks. Could be worse for you guys. Everyone could be armed to the teeth and shooting at each other like what happens here.

Untrue Pete. CO19 is the unit in the Met police that controls all armed response and you may recall I was criticle about their conduct during the shooting of a young Brazilian man Jean Charles de Menezes, and I was especially crticle of Cressida Dick of Met Police's Specialist Crime Directorate. Well, she's back and she's even had a promotion in the mean time. CO19 is at full strength this weekend since some of the rioters of a couple of weeks ago were using firearms and shooting at the Police Helicopter.

The Notting Hill riots start today - well, it's the childrens riot today and the adults have their riot tomorrow. What a load of tosh............

This was brought about by the police shooting of a man? I would say that any excuse would do. They should be dealt with extemely harshly, and end this BS.

Er, difficult to explain on a public forum, otherwise might have UK Thought Police or Forum Uber Liberal breathing down my neck but, yes, you are correct but it's not London slang, it's a er, colloquialism that er, indicates, er people of er, certain, er ethnic origins innit.

You might also ask, wereitis?

Or, you might say the words beer can sandwich (quickly)

Al - It's the language of the "hoodies" which is also nicknamed "Hinglish" . Innit.

We're British, Innit by Britishness expert Iain Aitch

Innit
This useful piece of punctuation can be used to end any sentence in Britain, providing a simple reaffirmation of the facts therein (It is well hot, innit?) or adding emphasis to the need for confirmation of a fact from a companion (Are you going to the cinema, innit?). The genius of the word is that it can be retrospectively applied to classic literature or speeches and still make sense. So, Shakespeare may ask ‘To be, or not to be, innit?’.

Holy crap. What ever next. Innit.

Expect some "water drinking" idiot to make some idiotic comments. Innit.
