Lurker Revealed

Just wanted to sign on and say I have been impressed with the knowledge and help that flows thru this site and look forward to learning more. I originally came here because I was considering one of Fran's T70 coupes; however, I am now seriously considering the SLC for street use and club track events. My background is anything automotive and have 2 street rods, a 66 Mustang GT350 clone, a 2000 Z51 Corvette convert, an 05 Mustang GT, an 06 Mustang Pony and the support vehicles that are needed to move all the non-running cars and me around. Although currently employed (I work for a manufacturing/engineering company that makes automated production line equipment), I am looking for something fun to carry me into retirement.
Looking forward to learning from "you-all".

John - You've come to the right place... But then you knew that didn't you... :)

Welcome (officially) to GT40s.com

Hi John, welcome to the forum. I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Feel free to ask away about the SL-C, lots of info here.

JD,

Welcome! I'm out in San Angelo. My shop is being completed and I'll be moving my SLC in to get back with it. You're welcome anytime to check out mine while it's under construction.

Thanks. I've been watching your shop build. We are currently trying to decide whether to sell and move to a smaller house before I retire and then build a shop or stay where we are and build a shop on the existing property (we are on 5 acres outside of Boerne, TX), but the real estate market may make that decision for us.
Is your SLC still in progress or is it finished? I get to San Angelo once every couple of years, but this may just be the excuse to go again.

John,

It's not nearly done. I've moved about 330 miles from East of Dallas to San Angelo, bought 66 AC in Christoval (shop is there) and a small house in town. We have a 28 AC horse property E. of Dallas that's up for sale so we'll wait to build till then. So, the build has been suspended for several months. Actually, the wife is giving me the shop as a present! Not bad, Eh?
