MkIV chassis

(ladies and) Gentlemen,
please let me introduce myself and my quesion: As I am a cand.Ing heading fo a M.Sc. in aeronautical engineering, I am currently writing a report on aircraft technology ad its impact on "not flying objects".
Now - what has that to do with the GT40: As you know, lots of ideas like lightweight design, aerodynamic downforce etc. used in motorracing have their roots in the aircraft industry.
The Mk4 chassis is now a really radical design (if you compare it with the others from that time). That, and the fact that it is "race proven" are the reasons why I want to include it as an example in my report.
My major problem now is the lack of good data about it. Pictures of the chassis are really rare, and details about force linkage from front and rear suspension or engine mount are nearly impossible to find. I've got an magazine article about the manufacturing of it, but it is not really informative, all it says is that the panels were etched and glued (standard procedure with honeycomb material), some of them additionally riveted.
As you are all enthusiasts on the gt40s and their history, I hope, you can help me with info or pictures of this (masterpiece) chassis.

Thanks in advance to all of you.

roll cage

Looking those wonderful pics i noted the monocoques have anyway a roll cage integrated.
Sometimes ago Jim J6 told me in a previous thread he added a roll cage for safety in his car.
So this means not all the mk.4 have the same chassis maybe.

Let me know
paolo
