Oil Temperature sender take off

Can anyone help with a recommendation of the best place to locate the oil temperature electric sender on a 302 SBF? There is what I assume is access to the block oilways (I haven't unscrewed it!)on the opposite side of the block to where the oil pressure sender is located. I don't have an oil cooler so no external plumbing.

Brian,
Mocal (www.thinkauto.com) do a Oil Take of plate with a Temperature take off:

TGASPI As SP1 with 3/8BSP tapping for temp gauge
£19.64 (Excluding: VAT at 17.5%)

That way you can put an Oil stat further down the line. That is assuming that you are using a cooler.

I put mine into the extra port of a remote filter mount. Oil temp will be about the same everywhere in the system unless you use a cooler. Even then if you use a oil thermostat, and you should, the oil temp will be just about the same throught out the oiling system.

The main thing is to have it located where it is enveloped by oil not just getting splashed by it. If I was just at the beginning of my engine built I would weld a bung into thr oil pan and place it there.

Use the port behind the mech.fuel pump mounting point for thr oil pressure sender.
