Problem: My Smart Car - Has No Spare Wheel

Keith

A word of warning.

When I was 20 and wanted to learn about cars by building a kit car from an MGB, I couldn’t get the engine to clear the last inch of the front panel. I asked my mum if she could help by sitting on the wing. She enquired why she was doing it, and was not best pleased when I said I wanted a bit of ballast to weight the front down an inch or so.… it worked.

She was even less pleased later on as my manual suggested warming up the pistons to help fit the gudgeon pins, I used her teapot....it worked. Apparently, though it made the tea taste oily, I don’t drink tea so I wouldn’t know. :)

Marcus,
That depicts an inshore rowing pleasure boat. The fighting long ships (langskips) would use 15-16 oars on each side and a chanter to control the speed and navigation, not a whip.

Next year 'll try again.. How about it Marcus - t''s always the last Tuesday in January and its a brilliant uisge beatha session in the pubs in Lerwick.
