RCR visit, May 2015

Came to Detroit to visit Ryan. Saw a lot of activity in addition to the Jag, some of which I can mention here.

Several SLC’s were in the works. One had a stunning powerplant with twin turbos, intercooled with a separate water cooled intercooler. It also had the most massive brakes I have seen on an SLC.

Then there was another SLC with carbon fiber brakes.

Then there was another SLC with a Ferrari engine

Two Jag XJ13s were under construction. A beautiful set of stainless steel headers were being fabricated on the V12 engine which also had a custom induction system: twelve horns pointed straight up, in two rows.

The MOAB (where did that name come from?) is a monster. Electronic instrument display, massive steel frame, massive tires. Mid engine, with excellent weight distribution. Spare is mounted on a hinged frame to ease access. Rear subframe is bolted on for ease of repair or replacement. This is the ultimate vehicle for those late night rides through down town Detroit (can I say that here?) or the Baja. Take your pick.

Then there was the mock up of the Superlite Aero. Interesting project.

There were several Apex’ in the works. Seems that the use of a V8 powerplant has sparked interest.

A visit to RCR is like a trip to the candy shop for adult males with screaming engines instead of screaming kids.

is that a water temp gauge on the wg in the first pic?

Wish I would have known about the MOAB sooner. Picked up another offroad toy here a 6 months back. Suppose i could sell it. lol

If I lived in Oregon again, (I lived in Lincoln City), I'd be all over the Moab. That thing was built for the Oregon Dunes!

Yes, it would be a blast out here as we go quite abit to Florence and play. But, I think it would be a good option for you in Nevada since there is so much open desert area there and some pretty big off road races. Heck, I wonder if they could even be street legal there? I know in Arizona UTV's can be street legal. Praying it happens soon in Oregon too!

It's actually very difficult to register a "kit car" here unless it looks like it's pre-1965ish.

You'd think the state that has the SEMA show would be more lenient.

There's thousands upon thousands of miles of trails in this state. It would be awesome to have the Moab out here. I'm afraid it would be a complete pain in the ass to register it.

Do you know why they are pulling a signal from there? I am guessing boost controlled by ecu then. Just never seen anyone pull a reading from the wg before.
