Rear Window Replacement?

I am interested in replacing the thin plastic bulkhead window, so my wife can enjoy our car as much as I.

I understand that there is an thick plastic one from somebody in Florida and a glass type in the LA area. Does anybody have any experiance with these? Any contact info would be greatly appreciated.

Contact Olthoff Racing. Dennis will set you up. He stocks the polycarb one your referring to. I have one and IMO it is OEM in clarity and quality.

Its made of 3/4 inch cast acrylic, very clear and deadens the noise. Does away with the original window bracket (SPF) and seals against rubber in the window opening.

Spyder Mike, the window that comes with the car is a very flimsy piece of plastic that sits in a metal frame, it is very cheesy.
I don't understand why the SPF does not have a glass rear window.

To be honest, I hadn't noticed. I don't use it that much - not much to see back through the mirror, and I don't want to deaden the noise at all. I will have to check it out...

I agree about the rear plexi glass you get with the SPF, that is why I like the thick acrylic window. You can have one made from 1/4 inch laminated glass which deadens the sound also but you still would be counting on the flimsy bracket to hold it up behind your head and also it is not as durable as cast acrylic.

If you don't drive your car a great deal and use it for the track only maybe the thicker window is a waste but I drive my car every time I get the opportunity and my wife goes with me. To make it bearable for both of us I have tried to bring down the DB level of the cockpit as much as possible, its now far better than when I started.
