SBC 4 stage drysump mounting?

My brother picked up an drysump pump for his gen1 sbc and wanted me to post his question here because he always hears me talking the great expertise the members of this form have.
Anyway, here's his question:

Does anyone know how this is done and where it should be located?

Either by drilling/tapping the rear of the block valley area ( this can get a bit messy if your short of room around back of engine bay ) or down from the rear of the intake manifold, You should fit standpipes to the 1/2" drain holes between lifter bores & block the two larger drains on each side at rear plus the one nearest #2 cyl @ front then Epoxy a mesh screen in the one nearest #1 cyl to make the block assy compatible with valley scavenge. I have made up a tube in the past that allowed all valley oil to drain into pan without contacting the crank counterweights & simply add third scavenge to pan but that was a RRPIA to fit.

So we also have a problem mounting the tank, a lot of cars i'v seen online mount it in the front bumper, but that's not going to work in our situation. Is it ok to mount it in the cabin? With the vent also in the cabin?

If whatever sanctioning body that controls the track you race on allows it , thats fine, take a vent from tank to a breather can mounted outside the cabin area though & ensure the tank cap is a positive seal type, not much fun in an inverted car with a couple of gallons of hot oil slowly oozing toward you..

Any racing machine shop with a good reputation in dry sump dirt engines can plumb your block for the oiling mods necessary and do it right (very important). Randy Dorton at Hendrick and Harold Elliott at Junior Johnsons both ran single pickups from the lifter valley on sbc's and filled all other holes to make a sealed cam tunnel top and bottom. Waddell Wilson's (former Holman Moody and Hendrick engine builder) 'Racing Engine Preperation' covers oiling mods if you can find a used copy on ebay or amazon, and hot rod had a Hank-the-Crank build 351C with these mods in 1974 with a story that covered the oiling mods extensively.
