Some SPF guidance please..

Good day,
Well, winter boredom has set in. (-10F this morning)
Could an owner of a SUPERFORMANCE MKII measure the outside diameter of the round bar spanning between the two front quick-lifts. And if possible, post a photo of how the front quick-lifts are attached to the chassis. I seem to recall they are welded on, but I could be mistaken. (Would be great if they bolted on and were removable as a unit)
I'm starting to work on a few small projects until my GT is completed and delivered. (Front & rear tow-hooks right now)
I'm also looking for any suggestions and details for other things I can fabricate until my car arrives in frozen Chicagoland. Such as: The rear clam tilt limiting cable. Brackets for rear clam support struts. Rear lic. plate holder, etc....
All will be added to a new section going into in my SPF GT Owners Manuals for others to build in the future. (Great suggestion from an owner) (You'll get your name added a a contributor too if you like) You can post here or to me directly.

Could also use the bolt circle diameter for the steering wheel center. Thought I saw a drawing somewhere?

Two or three laptops ago, I had a diagram I made of both the MK I and MK II front/rear "quick jack" dimensions. We built a "jack bar" that fit into a floor jack and matched the jacking point on the car (which are fully useable and welded so no worries) and had a round bar with washers welded to prevent the chassis from slipping off. These are not like a "Cobra" quick jack that can raise the car but will FUBAR the bodywork. A GT can be lifted; hung from a helicopter or any other way you can figure to stress the lift point and be more than fine.

Thanks, but let me clarify a bit. It's the bar that is part of the car that the measurement is needed.
But the external lift bar is another great idea for a project.

Blas - The front round bar on my Mk I measures 26.0" between the quick jacks which is also the inner dimension of the quick jacks. They are about 0.25" thick steel.

My steering wheel hub measures 78.0mm in diameter.

I thought I could build stuff while waiting but without the car it was difficult. The most productive stuff I did was all drivetrain related. Assembling the clutch, mounting the ZF, etc.

Blas, Sorry for the late response but some pictures of my SPF front bar and attachments. The bar is 3/4" diameter, but on this particular car the distance between the quick jack (QJ) plates is 26-1/16", probably a production variance from Lee Patterson's 26" above?
My QJ plate is 1/4" thick as above. I do think original QJ plates were 1/2" plate, from what I can gleen from period pictures. If you’re interested in my front, rear tow hooks and QJ bar let me know and I can give you some specifics. Hope this helps.

Not 100% certain on the mk2 bits in terms of plate thickness but the quickjacks arent a solid plate, it is fabricated in 18swg (probably) sheet steel.

The MK II rear QJ are fabricates, the front are plates on both the MK I and MK II.

Thank you Mark,
Both your front and rear QJ's are exactly the designs I'm looking for. I have 2 or 3 variations in my collection now.
I have confirmed that the front dimensions are identical on the MKI and MKII and have confirmed the rears to be fabricated and not solid plates. Have also confirmed rear dimensions on the MKI and MKII. Looking to confirm dimensions on the"Wide Body" version next. Have two confirmations that you should not just wrap a tow strap on bar across front QJ's except near bar ends at QJ"s.

Running a bit behind on this new manual section. My computer gave-up the farm finally. But no data lost. Just time and expense of starting fresh.

The MK II rear QJ are fabricates, the front are plates on both the MK I and MK II.

Spf are thick plates. But the original ones are 18swg sheetmetal "fabricated" in the same way as the rear spf ones.

Are the original MKII front quick jacks a solid piece or fab’ed? The originals are definitely wider than those on the SPF.
