Sump question

Gents looking at buying a sump,where to start, any recommendations going on a 302 ford engine 1971.

It might be an idea to check how deep a sump you can get away with so it it doesn't stick out below the chassis and become the first thing that hits an obstacle and dumps all the oil. The style of sump depends on what you intend to do with the car. If a lot of track use then a big wing gated sump will be a good idea to prevent loss of oil pressure when cornering. The oil pick up will need to be the correct height for whatever sump you choose. Aviaid or Canton will have what you need. Have a look at Summit Racing, JEGS etc.
