Tilt-A-Car

Just got the latest email advert from Eastwood. In it they show the latest device to help you work on your car. At $1400 it is a little pricey for something that doesn't look too complicated. It says that you can use an electric drill to crank the car up, so I am assuming that there is a geared jack screw that does the work of tilting a vehicle of ≤ 6800 lb up to a 90° angle.

This is what I used for my B GT V8 when I rebuilt it. Very handy, cost me £50 about 10 years ago. Actually made by a guy called Mr Grumpy who used to do all sorts of stuff for Morris Minors! You needed a few mates to help you tilt the car, and about 6 to 8 foot to spare. Once up it was very stable and you could climb all over it.

I hope when I'm old I can make useful stuff and be called Mr. Grumpy. Right now I make useless stuff and I'm cheerful about it.

Came across this one last year. Custom made. There was talk of producing these, but don't know if that happened yet.
