Went to a builder in the UK who has a 90% complete 'replica' chassis in his garage..... Saw and touched some original GT40 suspension and other parts....

Felt like a kid in a sweet shop.... Cant disclose the maker but FIA approved has a nice ring to it.....

Am placing an order this summer for a chassis..... I have finally arrived on the forum........ thank you god.....

BTW also discussed custom fitting of the chassis and lowering of the driver seat to help my 6'2" frame, sorry guys but all I can say is exceptional workmanship and the closest thing to religion I have ever known..... roll on the summer....

Excuse my ignorance, but how can a chassis which isn't finished and isn't public already be FIA approved?
Maybe I'm being a bit slow and missing something here, but it doesn't sound right? Is it subject to this and on condition of that etc.?
Please enlighten me.

ok its 2:05am the day after my 39th birthday... lots of champagne tequilla and vodka.... (hey why not...) so excuse the spelling.... had a VERY informative chat with the man...and have now got the full history of the david brown/uk builders replica chassis story.... not going to divulge names or makes but... went to the bank secured a loan for 30K and might... says again might..... be the owner of a replica (FIA approved) chassis in 4 weeks. The dream is to drive a GT40 when i'm 40 (1 year from now) and it might just happen..... to pissed to write any more.....
