Hey Fran that would have to be back it in Rossi by the look of it, now that takes balls bloody big ones, the only other rider i've seen ever come close was Doohan. very brave men

I think that these Moto GP bikes have very sophisticated traction control systems on them nowadays. It may not be as easy to do this without the reaction speed of the computer software monitoring the rear wheel torque. Still class riders though. I would like to see them riding like this at the Isle of Man TT!
Cheers
Mike

I do have a poster of Christian Sarron doing the same thing back on the days of 500 two stroke GP bikes....Doohan was king in those days and loved seeing him ride...

I even had a Doohan replica Arai helmet back then...

There are many guys that drift the ar*e end around the Island but the roads are not as wide , or smooth as circuit tracks...
I think the guy that laid the biggest darkies on the Island is recent years was in 2011 when Mark Higgins almost lost it at the bottom of Bray Hill in the Subaru POV Rally Champion Mark Higgins Near Crash at 150 mph @ 2011 Isle of Man TT - YouTube

That's the sort of thing you expect to see on a mile DIRT oval, with much wider bars and a more 'forgiving' surface.
Fran - that poster- is it the one with the guy who has one hand on the bars and waving with the other?

Gary McCoy was the king of the slide. Rossi once said something along the lines of enjoying riding behind McCoy, just for the entertainment.
That was before the traction control that has kept more recent riders on their wheels.
Pete, you should remember him.

Btw the first Moto race of the year was fun to watch, looks like we are in for some great racing. Pity to see Rossi struggling so much.

This a great shot too and the one AJ is refering too...Xaus having fun...

Lorenzo is going to be tough to beat this year I reckon.....if everything goes Stoners way it should be a cracking season...but he seems to need all the stars to align to be at his best.
