Red with silver stripes is nice.
I thought you were going with the Gulf paint scheme?
GT40s usually don't have too much trouble standing out. 
Oh, BTW, Bill, I think red w/ yellow stripes would look nice, but I would recommend you consider adding thin black stripes at the red-yellow borders to improve contrast and set the colors off better.
Bill, deep red is the cat's ass! Now, metallic or solid deep red?
If you add green it could be either an Italian car or a Mexican car....
Mark, awesome pic. I've been thinking about dark blood red on a 40. The blacked-out headlights and notrils, etc. with the deep red is terrific.
Bill the yellow over-touch on that pic is a little on the neon side. You should keep checking on shades of yellow that would go with the deep red since that was your thinking.

Thanks Mark. I am planning to do a repaint next year (or two) and I'm thinking the blood red is the way to go too. I have a warm red now and while it looks nice, I also want something a bit different. Since the chassis is red and I don't want to do a full tear-down, keeping to a red seems like the smart (lazy) approach for me.
