What front and rear wheel and tire size do you run?

Also really like to know the wheel offset too.

Just taking a little poll here!

Also, Gulf version or not if you please.

Dangerous Darrin.

Someone else's offset will come down to many things.
You should do measuring.

2.5" outer 5.5" inner in the front
4.5 " outer 5.5" inner on rear
And it is in the correct size of 15"

295 rear 225 front

Darrin:

15" wheels
Front 10" wide X 5" backspace
Rear 14" wide X 5" backspace
Track is set at 56" front and rear

I am running Avons but can't remember sizes right now...can post them later if you need. As Jim said be careful here as clearances inside and out get really close. Bodywork can rub in a number of places, and suspension parts are really close. I think the widebody look is awesome though and there were a couple of widths tossed around for that spec but they all look good.

Just trying to see a trend....

So far it looks like the backspacing is much less than I was looking at in the back (no...I have not measured as I haven't got my rear done as I am STILL waiting on some parts to arrive).

My question now is, why is the backspacing lower? Is it because of the 15" wheel running into clearance problems in the back? Thinking a taller wheel, which I will be running, MAY not have this issue which would mean I could run a larger backspacing.

What I am trying to figure is if I can get away with a stock wheel or have to go with a custom one. My thinking these days is to go with 9x18 in front and 11x18 in back. Most of the 18" tall 11" wide stock wheels have a backspacing of 7-8 inches though.

Darrin:
The top of my rear uprights clear the wheel by approx 7/16", and the lower suspension is fairly close also...even if you run a larger wheel there is a limit to how far in you can go as the next problem would be upper and lower radius rods which run near the outer limits of the suspension..
Most of the newer suspensions with the larger diameter wheels have large backspacing because they have been designed for that, and on a lot of front wheel drivers it was done to minimize scrub radius and take out the torque steer some of the early cars were prone to, and it also lengthens suspension moments which makes for a wider track and a lot of the newer suspensions are strut based which minimizes some components.
You may have to seek a compromise and go with wider body work, and a smaller wheels.
Good luck whichever way you go

Thanks Phil. I have the Gulf flares sitting in storage if I want to go that route. Had originally planned on it then got to talking to a guy who has them and how he constantly worries about his rear bumping into someone and the fact that I could save a lot on stock 11" wheels instead of going to the size I would need. Still some time to mull it over so no hurry. Just wondering what my options were.

Darrin:
Most welcome, If you need some detailed photos on the clearance issues or I can help further just give a yell.
Cheers

I have just ordered a set of 15" dia. BRM wheels for a gulf flared ERA in 9.5" fronts and 12" rears. I went with ERA's recommendations which can be found here for both narrow and wide body cars;

What shocks is anyone here using on a pre- 100 CAV (#99) other than Spax? I'am DONE with them. What brand is available here in the USA and hopefully made here also, that will fit this momo chassis?
