While still in High School, my dad helped me pick up a nice looking '67 Mustang with the straight 6-200ci. It must've been full of STP oil treatment because as soon as I changed the oil, it started smoking bad. After saving $$ and sending the head in for a valve job, it ran great and I drove the piss out of if for years.
Then it started.....I picked up a 428 short block and bought a set of 427 Tunnel Port heads with the dual quad Offy intake, and mated it to a C6, 4200 stall TC and nodular 9" diff. The motor barely fit with a custom set of Hooker headers (2 1/4" primaries/4" adj. collector), that wrapped above and below the steering linkage. Also installed '69 Mach 1 brakes and seats and cut an oval in the hood for the two Holleys to poke through. I was then hooked on Big Block power!
Since childhood my bucket list of cars included Cobra, Pantera, and GT-40. I now have two out of 3.
