Wilwood 6pistons; brake pads?

Getting closer to tieing up my brake system.

For you 6piston Wilwood guys out there, what pads are you using/going to be using? No track use in mind, but want great stopping power and minimal dusting, with no "weird" issues (e.g., squeeling like a stuck pig until the rotors are warmed up).

I'm thinking something in either the Hawk line or Wilwood line? I've had excellent luck with both on other cars.

On my Wilwood 6-pot fronts I use Wilwood 150-8855K Smart pads.
They are a fast road/track pad and I was very disappointed with them initially. But once they have bedded in, and particularly when they are warm, they are awesome.
One day I was coming round a bend off the M25 eastbound ramp onto the M23 at a slightly indecent speed, to be faced by the stationary last vehicle in a tailback. They stopped me that time too!

For you, I'd suggest getting pads that operate at a cool temperature because you won't be running long enough between filling up the tank and stopping at the next gas station.

My tank is only 1/2 the size of your tank ..... eventually you'll have to stop too

Alex, I'm using the Wilwood 150-8854K pads all around.

Alex you might look into CL Brakes New Sintered Pads Lots of good reviews on them

I called a tech guy at Wilwood, very helpful. In the end i got 150-8854K pads. Cant afford to slide inot my neighbors mailbox with cold pads...

Also can you tell how you decided on the mastercylinder size with these calipers ?

Going there my self and need to buy master cylinders now

Ah my favourite corner (assuming northbound M23), great on bikes as well :thumbsup:

Not trying to go off topic but, does this mean there are some tasty looking GT40's around the Purley area?

Well, they seem to be doing okay sitting on my shelf at the moment, haha!

As for m/c size, it came with a Wilwood remote master cylinder package .... I just used the larger one (it came with 2 sizes in it) because that's what everybody else is using. I know, awesome selection logic, eh

I'm still under impressed with the 8854's but i've only logged 30 or 40 miles. I keep having to pull in for gas! The rotors still need some serious bedding. Still alot of swirl marks form the wilwood machining. They get a little better every joyride.

The 8854k's need to be bedded in properly and go through a few heat cycles.
They should work well after that. Put some more miles on...IMO.
