Can't beat a timeless design, but don't let anyone stop you. By all means go ahead and build one, I'm sure the all the Hoons will be delighted...

As for us, well.. we have embraced all nature of "personal interpretations" of this iconic vehicle and most are generally well received. We are not as "pure" as the Ferrari boys and for that reason, I think you should build a Hot Rod Ferrari instead, just as you describe. It will have far greater impact my friend and I wouldn't bet against a personal invitation from Maranello to visit them, they would probably even send over an escort to make sure you didn't get lost!

I would not jack up just the rear, why not go all out. put 24" wheels and don't forget the step to help you get in. Here's what you can do with 10 minutes and PhotoShop. Enjoy

thanks again jimmy i knew there would be some that are not gonna like my plan but i always got to be different i don't like having what everyone else has so i guess i'm birthing a hot rod lol,just dug out my kit and then scrapped the v.w floor pan gonna go from ground up

By it's very nature the GT40 is kind of an elite vehicle, no? Not elitist but elite, of single purpose. Not to stand in your way but there surely are other vehicles that lend themselves to this sort of mods, no? You might want to look into the valkyrie gt40 as it won't take 50K to get into one.

Regardless side pipes won't work, jacking up the rear is out, what's left of your master plan?

I too can't wait to see the photos.

hey mike whatever happen to where there's a will there's a way i'm not scared of some fabricating beside's i already see a finished product in my head and that means it can be done side pipes and all, i'll keep the camera handy and make sure to post alot of photos
