...a not-even-marginally-palatable casserole and the Nazi 'turn-key' staff member to whom you complained about it?

Haha Larry nice description but a little wide of the mark. The events are not connected though. Hint: Photo 1 is of a dish which should be common knowledge among Americans and it has a name although slightly different in execution from state to state. The quiz is to either name the dish or describe where you might get to try it..

Photo 2. Is someone I ran into recently but I feel is a perfect role model for her profession.

Oh...well now...THAT narrows it down a bit, duzzunit!

'Have no clue what the 'dish' may be. Trust me when I tell you the like of it has never graced any plate set before me either at home or in any restaurant up-to-and-including the "five star" variety! (Edit: county fair fast food, mebbe?)

By the, "can't-you-see-I'm-busy"/"why-are-you-bothering-me"/"you're-lucky-I'm-lowering-myself-to-'serve'-you"/"state-your-business-and-get-out" look on her face, the dame is likely a "public servant" of some type?

I don't know much about you Larry but I'll bet you haven't got personal experience of the first, but I'll also wager you're very familiar with the 2nd. :)

(unless I have completely the wrong info!)

Were I familiar with the 2nd, I'd have I.D.ed her right off the bat, would I not?

Eeeeeeeeeeh...WHAT "info"...and from who/where?

Familiar with the genre Larry.

Info I have gleaned from reading posts on here. Nothing sinister..

Having said that, I could be wrong.. :shifty:

Dayuum. This was supposed to be simple!

Is the one on the left something ghastly like a haggis fritter?

Bob

No it's actually quite well known by a large section of the American population. It may be known by slightly different names and can also feature varying ingredients depending on what's available I suppose.

Hint: It's not actually legal in some states

Well, shoot - if you read it on the 'net it MUST be true no matter what it was or who said it...right?

In my own darned case, it couldn't possibly be that I'd ever have posted something just to observe the reaction.........would it? :lipsrsealed:

Naaaaaaaah...:sneaky:

Here you go, here's a recipe, of sorts, sounds yummy.

There are many recipes which include a range of food, from vegetables, fruit, meat, and bread or other grains. The ingredients are blended and baked into a solid loaf. In one version, it is made from a mixture of ingredients that include ground beef, vegetables, beans, and bread crumbs. Other versions include mechanically separated poultry and "dairy blend."

OK lets just put it to the test then. Are you, or have you ever been, (sounds a bit McCarthy here!) a member of, (wait for it)

A member of.....

The medical profession?

I just showed the photo of the mystery dish to 'the boss'...who happens to be Canadian. Her guess is it's a meatloaf. Make's sense...I guess.

I love meatloaf, but 'have never seen one that looked quite like that.

Well, it matters not whether you are or are/were not, but it would have possibly given you an inside track to who the person is in pic 2...:tongue3:

Photo 1 looks like an atrophied brain, the second photo is obviously some sort of petty bureaucrat who delights in stuffing you and the rest of humanity about.

I was about to say, that, judging from the "Pulse" book/manual/magazine/journal, whatever, sitting to her right, she might be a head nurse/supervisor/cardiologist/bookkeeper or the like in a doctor's office within whatever you call your "Dept of Public Health"...but, that would make her a "public servant"...and that's already been suggested/rejected.

She has a crappy 'bedside manner' regardless...
