Well it looks like a tire repair kit and auto compressor will have to be carried as there is no room for a spare tire with the design of the SGT chassis. My son then asked what kind of jack came with the original cars and where was it kept? In all of my research of the original cars I have never seen the photo of a jack or where it was stored. Did the road cars have jacks???

Heat A/C Defrost unit mocked up. Used an Old Air Products, compact unit with a manual defrost outlet systemthey offer for another system and have cut and fit together, next I will glass together. This puts the defrost right under the dash defrost area, yeah

Finished epoxying my Old Air compact unit into one that will now have defrost, floor heat and be cable operated. Took the nozzles I cot off the original unit, and epoxied to my dash defrost area and used the fiberglass bits I drilled out of the dash to fill those nozzles, not the prettiest but it will work!

Then the roll hoop has pretty much zero function having removed its strength in triangulation, and if rolled it can just as well collapse inwards into the cockpit as into enginebay as it has only the bottom weld that supports it.

I agree Morten, and I value your thoughts. however there are a couple of things different about this bar. Due to the installation angle it is canted back so more likely to collapse to the rear than forward. There are also a 1" angle pieces directly welded to the roll bar and 1" indirectly connected to the bar that for the back of the cabin that also would prevent folding forward onto to the passengers but allows it to move backward toward the engine. Other considerations for making the removal is this car is not meant for racing but for street use or DE events. This car is meant to be an homage to a road car which is why I removed as it interferes with the rear clam and angle pieces that hold the slam catch assembly I have yet to fabricate and install.

If I wanted to seriously track the car YES I would put a down bar back in but INSTALL fuel cells as I am more scared of fire than roll over. I rolled a Healey 100-4 at TWS 4x before stopping on the roll bar, having to un buckle and crawl out before the corner workers could get there. I know what it is like and also how much racing 5 point belts will stretch. So I know the value of a good roll set up as it saved my life.

David,

Can you verify the angle of the main bulkhead structure? Since I need to do some spider fabrication from various smaller pieces the best I can measure I get about a 75 degree angle back from the pod/floor structure. This basically parallels the back side of the door angle where it meets the spider when closed.

I have a couple sets of plans that are within +/- 5 degrees of each other.

perfect! Guess my approximation was spot on. Also great info on the seatback/inner bulkhead angle too.
