Laser beams! I am working on figuring that out. Just sent a message off to Carteroni for their recommendations. I have some time as I am going to put in the rear main hoop of the roll cage first.

Just a big enough flat surface with straight edges you can reference to. First prize is if you can clamp or tack to it to hold pieces in place. I made one out of wood with an MDF top. About knee high. Not perfect, but good enough if you support it from the floor and level it with a long straight edge / spirit level. It's on casters here so i could move it around after i had built my chassis

The MDF top was useful because you can secure chassis members to it by driving screws though bits of wood placed across the lower frame members into the table top.
