I had exactly the same thing happen. I replaced the POS filter with one of these:

That looks like a more cost effective solution than what I just ordered: One of these Aeromotive Fuel Filters 12348 - Free Shipping on Orders Over $99 at Summit Racing and one of these Aeromotive Fuel Filters 12349 - Free Shipping on Orders Over $99 at Summit Racing. These are 100 and 40 micron filters with AN6 fittings. The ones you picked are half the price with AN8 fittings, but it's not clear to me if the AN6 flavor has the cylindrical filter element or not.

Congrats on getting it completed and licensed. From the pictures it looks like it was well worth the years invested.
