Are these Mirrors 'original'

I picked these up at an autojumble a while back. They are metal bodied & fairly heavy. Are these the same as the original mirrors referred to in Jimmy Mac's thread ??http://www.gt40s.com/forum/gt40-tec...ation-parts-pictures-only-do-not-comment.html

Altho it's difficult to see in the picture, they are marked "A. J. W. B'HAM"

They look pretty similar to those in Mike Drew post http://www.gt40s.com/forum/superformance-gt40s/21892-spf-mkii-mirrors.html?highlight=mirrors

BTW I gave 20 quid for the pair !

Hi Mark,

I have a set of chrome Sebrings aswell, however these have a larger lense & give a better rear view, plus I prefer the black !

Jools--I was looking at the 'chrome' Sebrings at the Talbot Co. booth at Concorso Italiano last week; the body of the mirror was flash-chromed plastic.

Are your mirrors original, and is the housing plastic or chromed steel?

Hey Mike,

The chrome sebring mirrors I have are metal bodied, and are labeled 'Sebring mach 1'

I've enclosed a pic of a sebring mirror at the Stanguellini museum in Modena, which also looks to be metal bodied. I believe there is also a plastic bodied sebring mirror available as detailed here http://www.gt40s.com/forum/gt40-wan...-mach-1-mirrors-wanted.html?highlight=sebring

The mirrors I have fitted to my car are metal bodied & I chose them mainly because of the black finish, but also they have a *slightly* larger lense.
