Audi trans quick question

just a quick question re the Audi 01E- 012 etc transmisions do you run them in standard configuration or do you flip them over. the only reason I ask is I've run mine standard and have wound up with a 12 degree shaft angle, I have it on good authority my CV's are ok to 25 degree, but even 12 looks a bit odd. just thinking ahead as I may have another to build later on.

You have it correct, you do not flip.
Im on about 10deg or so John and I have raped the car and have no issues.
Its had 11 track days and all good.

thanks Jim I feel better, its only when I fitted the half shafts today that I saw the angle and was a bit concerned, I did buy some good performance CV's and half shafts from Dans performance in Califorina and they are good for 25 degree so he says , so all should be ok.

I believe you cannot flip the 01E even if you wanted to.

You can run it upside down but you will have 6 reverse gears and one forward. The ring gear cannot be flipped.

You have to run the engine/trans in a rear engine configuration with a rotated 01E trans, or unless you want to do as Eric said and go really fast backwards.
