I recently put four tires on my truck and the bride asked if I got any coupons or discounts. I told her a shopped the tires and received a competitive price and figured that was it.
She then went to the computer and after a fingertip flamenco dance on the keyboard asked me what brand I bought (they were B.F. Goodrich) she then asked for the receipt and informed me they had a manufacturer promotion and I need to send in a copy to receive a $50 gift card. I did so and the card came in the mail yesterday. When I bought the tires the dealer said nothing of the offer nor was there anything in the local paper.
She then suggested that when I Christmas shop, (no doubt for her expensive gift) always check the internet for brand and product-type specials prior to purchase to make sure there isn't some beneficial offer that may not be publicized locally.
It's something to consider as you make your holiday purchases.
