Dry Sump Oil tanks

Rookie needs help.

Is there an equation for deciding on the optimum size oil tank for a given dry sump installation (I plan on an LS7 with Kinsler stack EFI approx 550bhp in an RCR40 if that helps). Or is it a case of rule of thumb and experience.

Liked the way Peterson products are engineered but I guess there are others

Either way I would appreciate your comments.

Bewildered of Lindfield  .

Talk to Fran, he can get you a nice fitting tank. One thing to remember is that you don't have a huge amount of room for a tank. One thing you can also do is use one of the rear compartments in the chassis as a tank as was mentioned to me. I opted for a separate tank, I think Fran has used it in a couple of cars and fits nice and mounting is very slick. I don't know the amount of oil it holds, but looks good sized. I'm running a 600hp+ and I can't remember what the Ron's car has but I think he has the same tank.
