Ever heard of thunder ranch?

I dropped them an e-mail about their 550 spyder kits. It's been about a week now and still haven't gotten anything back. DO any of you in the industry know anything about these guys? It looks like they produce a quality kit and there site isn't very suspicious, so im thinking they are legit?

Thunder Ranch & Tom McB are legit; he's just not very good at emailing. Suggest you call him instead.

I had contacted him a few years ago about building a Ferrari 250GTO replica and he talked my arm off.

LOL good to hear! I was just being cautious, you know how some companies are a persons hobby or not very customer friendly type deals. But good to know! Now i just need to source parts!!!

I would do more research on Tom McB....I seem to recall some issues that were discussed on the old 550 Spyder forum.

Or better yet, call Chuck Beck (of Beck Spyders) and ask him -

I am a spyder guy - for the last 16 years having built and owned a Beck. Thunder Ranch has been around a while and most people who have done business with them have liked the product and are generally happy. Communication issues have been mentioned in teh past, buit now at major issues.

I suggest you check out the www.spyderclub.com site for those who have bought and built their products. Of particular interest would be LANECOs A6 porsche powered and PHOTOAARONs VW powered. I think they can tell you exactly what you would be getting into. Very helpful folks over there at spyderclub.

Regards,
Mike
