floor pan

+ 1 for 5251.

Used it at work on some more robust aircraft panels, should work a treat for a floor pan! Its more like a mid-strength Ally and like Brett says its got good corrosion properties.

Thanks Rob,

what other things can i do to stop the corrosion, between alloy, and steel?? ive been told a good bonding agent will help, and also useing a earth strap will help............ any comments please

Im still in the planning/fund raising/getting permission from the misses stage but im planning on using either JC11 Celloseal or Duralac jointing compound. Both will protect against dissimilar metal corrosion and should give you some protection from water getting in through the floor pan aswell. You could also use PRC 1750 but its mainly used for fillet seals and weather seals.

hi,
thanks to everyone for their help....

Brett Im not really knowledgable on rivets...would it be best to use stainless steel rivets ??

I got lucky and found a 4x12 sheet of 7075-T7 .083" at Boeing surplus. You can put very slight bends in it. That an equivalent of .160" in 6061-T6.
