Forum for Polls?

Here I go, suggesting another forum! Had a thought the other day, how about creating a sub-forum just for polls? There have been a number of general interest ones over the last couple of years, but they're not easy to find straight away, and not the sort of thing someone is likely to do a search for. It might be handy for someone new to the forum to be able to easily find them to look to see which are the most popular kits/gearchange combinations etc.

Just a thought,

Max

That's a great idea Max - it would be a really easy way for old & new members to get a simple profile of some area of interest & would help with subsequent searches.

Kind Regards,

Hi mate - hope you are well.

I think the idea is good in priciple, but what you are likely to get as a result of this, is a list of how many people have bought a certain combination (popularity) as opposed to expert opinion on which combination is best for which chassis/type of use etc.

An example of this is that Frank Catt swears by the Renault 21 box, whilst Robert Logan prefers the Audi and so on.

It would be good to see a list of manufacturers and experts preferences. I would really like to see a resource list on this forum, covering manufacturers, engines, transaxles, ancils etc along with contact details so that it is easy to find for a "newby" and encourages them to continue using this forum during their build and beyond.

Is your tickover sorted now?

Rick,

Well originally I was just thinking about a place to collate all the existing polls to make them easier to find. I wasn't proposing anything as a topic for a new poll. I agree that some polls may be unintentionally biased due to factors like that that you mention.

I also think a list of manufacturers would be good, though there have been links posted on this forum to where these exist elsewhere on the web.

My tickover is fine now thank you (or rather thank Brian & John), actually it now runs a little high but I prefer that than stalling everytime I come to a junction!
