Hi Simon!
I am new to the site by a few days.
One of the things that I do to make a living is to convert Hilborn style mechanical fuel injectors to EFI.
It is way simpler and way cheaper than most think, or "programmed" to think as the prices have been high since the begining.
I had called Craig Railsback at BDS (Blower Drive Service) as he does this regularly.
I wanted to convert my rare Hilborn for an early Dodge Hemi.
He told me that it would cost $4300 or more. SHEESH!
I decided to find another way....
I did, and it didn't involve welding and butchering a historic piece of racing equipment.
I make screw-in adapters for the nozzles, and hats for them that don't require fuel rails, and other odd parts.
I also use a Megasquirt ECU, which is very simple, and can be reprogrammed thousands of times.
I can take this controller out of my Lamborghini 12 cylinder powered Hot Rod, and put it in the Dodge Stealth with the Dodge Hilborn injected Hemi I am working on, or my 1970 Espada just by downloading a saved file of my PC.
The unit and all the required relays etc. cost little more than $500 last I checked, and all the programming, software and any help a person could ever need is free on the net.
I have also a Hilborn for a Boss 351 I am building very soon for a friends 65 Mustang fastback.
