Brand new Girling specification 4 cylinder brakes.
The old set will go out for refurbishing and used as spares. I also have a NOS set of FIA twin cylinder brakes so it's decision time as to which ones to fit first.
What color are you all going to paint the monos when you are done fitting everything to them? 103 was painted blue- later on, they switched to black, I think. If I were doing it over again, I'd use blue, although I like the charcoal gray I've got.
What I should have used.. the color I chose didn't flow out the way I thought it would. It doesn't look bad, it just doesn't look like I thought it would. But I am not taking it apart to paint it again. No way.
VEry neat install,, Jimmy. Glad things are progressing again. We are down to carpet and insulation, with the finish line in sight, with any luck, soon now.
Attention to detail and patience Jimmy , second to none.
posts started 4 years ago but when did you first start the build, from the very start that is ?
My fuel inlets are being welded up today. These are not to the drawings as we thought that the original adhesive/sealant joint arrangement far less safer than good old hose connections (we won't need to inspect glue joints every time we go out !). The tops are also machined for locking caps.
The second shot shows the fit up between the front inner flitch panels to the bobbin roller and also their relationship to the brake duct vents in the clip and in a mock-up of the alloy side panel.
We wanted to get the fit accurate so the flitch panels will be bonded to the clip this week when everything pairs up nicely.
