Lambo Miura SV goes up in flames...

Hi guys,

Sad day in London today. This video and accompanying photos are not for the faint of heart:

Video: Lamborghini Miura SV Burns to the Ground in Central London

The horn is especially poignant to me...:cry2:

That is just SO SAD!!!
One of the most iconic cars flamed.
I presume the tanks were not full otherwise those firemen were in danger of them blowing!
VERY SAD

Sad, but he'll get a nice payout and someone will rebuild it. Still, sad I know.

I can't understand why you wouldn't plumb a fire extinguisher system into a car like that? Everyone knows Miura's had a thing for burning.

What a crying shame... Such a beautiful iconic automobile... Gone in minutes....

Also agree on the installation of fire suppression system, although it may not have saved the car, it could have possibly reduced the net damage..
Most suppression systems are made to allow the driver an opportunity to escape more than they are to totally put out any fire. The cause of the blaze to begin with will have a lot to do with how successful such a system might be..

It could also keep the flames at bay just that little while extra, until Fire Crews get there. I can't imagine what it would be like to stand by without even a hand-held extinguisher, watching my car burn.

I am amazed that the fire crew ( once they got there) just used water on the fire, totally inept in my opinion, there was a guy standing around with hand held extinguisher, but all crews carry foam these days, and the fireman standing in burning fuel spraying water needs a training course urgently !

Yes, not their finest hour Frank. I enjoyed the bit when the hose ends up underneath the car, in the fire.....
They seem keener on crow bars & cutting than extinguishing flames !
